Puzzle Lab — Privacy Policy
In short. No account, no ads, no analytics, and no servers of ours. Your scan progress stays on your device. The only optional network request is a public Bitcoin price lookup. We never receive or store private keys — we do not run key servers at all.
1. Who we are
Puzzle Lab is an educational tool about the publicly documented cryptographic “Bitcoin puzzle” address ranges. We do not operate a prize, contest, lottery, or wallet custody service.
2. Data processed on your device
- Scan progress — which ranges you sampled — stored locally in app preferences.
- A legal acceptance flag recording that you agreed to the Terms and this Privacy Policy.
- Temporary in-memory display of cryptographic demo results while the app is open.
No account is required. We do not intentionally collect your name, email address, phone number or any government identifier.
3. Network
If you use the optional Rates feature, the app requests public Bitcoin price data from a third-party API (CoinGecko) over HTTPS. That request exposes your IP address to that provider under their own privacy policy. This is the only network request the app makes.
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not show ads. There is no advertising SDK in the app.
- We do not upload private keys anywhere. We operate no key servers.
- We do not offer Bitcoin prizes and do not guarantee any financial outcome.
5. Security note
If a demonstration or hypothetical match displays key material, treat it as sensitive. Do not screenshot or share keys. Keys shown for already-solved puzzles are public historical examples with no claimable balance.
6. Children
This app is intended for users aged 18 and over. Do not use it if you are under 18.
7. Your choices
Uninstalling the app removes all local preferences. You can avoid the optional price request simply by not using the Rates feature.
8. Changes
This policy may be updated. Material changes may require accepting a new in-app version before scanning continues.
